It's worth the asking price, if you ask me. ![]() The overall story, geography and major locations are fixed during each playthrough, so its not endlessly replayable. Being a bit too reliant on RNG (you can end up shit out of luck in terms of which mages you face, unit upgrades, spells you unlock and which heroes, apprentices and resources you end up with). Field armies and heroes in tactical combat, finish hundreds of quests, and gather spells and artefacts to become the most powerful mage of all. Quality of life issues (no quest journal for me is the most aggravating) On a journey to great magical might, explore and control the lands of Eo in this ever-changing turn-based strategy role-playing game. I'm new to Spellforce but I really enjoyed the lore so far. The quality of the writing and mini-quests, is all top notch. The combat is pretty tight and rewards tactics well. They offer the biggest innovation to the Age of Wonders formula. ![]() The three different playstyles, Alchemist, Artificer and Necromancer are all really interesting and feel substantially different. It's tactical gameplay is very similar, almost carbon copy of Age of Wonders III, so if you've played that game and liked it, it's very much in the same vein. If you like 4X Fantasy Games, it presents a fairly unique twist on the genre. SpellForce Conquest Of Eo is a strategy RPG with 4X DNA and do or die action.
